Hinduism is in the news. Hinduism is supposed to be a tolerant faith. Yet, there are those in its center, India, called militant Hindus, presumably an oxymoron. In a country of 1 billion plus, they attack and brutalize the 2.3% of the population who are Christians. They claim that the conversions to Christianity coming through the ministry of that small percentage are a danger to Hinduism, and to protect their tolerant faith they attack and beat and burn and humiliate the small number of Christians in that land.
Ask Pastor Laxmi Narayana. On June 8, this year, 50 militants stormed his home and threatened violence if he did not leave the area in which he was living and working for his God. Shortly thereafter, another 100 militants showed up. They assaulted him in front of his wife and two small children, 150 to 1. One of the attackers doused him with kerosene and attempted to light him on fire using a burning Bible as a torch. Failing that, they stripped him and placed a sign around his neck saying "I am the one who converts people." and paraded him through the streets as a crowd of another 1,000 Hindus joined in harassing him.
